Beach photographs gathered across years of travelling, from Cape Town to Italy, through Spain and France. Part candid street scene, part seascape, shot in colour and black and white on 35mm and medium format.
Whenever we travel, if there's a beach, I end up on it. A beach lets me photograph in near anonymity, which is the best setting I know for catching people candidly, about as close as I get to street photography. I'm drawn to the water itself too, the seascapes and the calm of a flat horizon.
This collection has built up over a run of trips, from Cape Town to Italy and through Spain and France, shot in black and white and colour on 35mm and medium format film.
